Culture Vultures!

Its been a busy few weeks for element15:  On Thursday 14th we installed an exhibition called ‘Watershed’ in McAuley Place Arts and Culture Centre;  on Monday 18th we put up our latest work in Las Rada Restaurant and Wine Bar and then on Friday last,  we held a demonstration of some textile art techniques in Las Rada as our contribution for Kildare Culture Night.   As you can see in the photos below, we had a lovely few hours with visitors coming and going for the two hour gig.

Asta demonstrated the process of making a felted lily and that went down a treat with adults and children alike – what child doesn’t like messing with soap and water!

Hannaleena worked away quietly doing contemporary applique work and her finished products were so professional that the images looked as if they were part of printed fabric.   Kathrina brought along some beautiful samples of contemporary stitch work and Helen some samples of fabrics printed with home made print blocks.

Las Rada very kindly provided Prosecco and some delicious nibbles so it was a jolly evening!

The exhibition in Las Rada continues for a number of weeks but the exhibition in McAuley Place will come down on Thursday 28th September – so last chance to see it today!
