We are heading a bit further afield for our newest exhibition, which opened this week at The Watergarden Gallery, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.
The Watergarden is a non-residential centre for adults with special needs. It includes a coffee shop, garden centre, gardens and art gallery. The centre held an open call for artists to exhibit during 2016 and we were priviliged to be one of the chosen!
Tucked away in the middle of Thomastown, the beautiful garden offers a therapeutic backdrop to the workplace of The Watergarden which provides meaningful work for adults with special needs and aims to bring the Camphill ethos into the wider community.
Our exhibition, Linked…, runs from 7th April to 4th May. Gallery opening hours are 10am to 4 pm, Tuesday to Friday.
We are having a special Saturday opening on 16th April from 12 noon to 3.30pm, when you’ll be able to view the work and meet some of the artists. Please use the restaurant entrance to access the gallery.
You could make a day of it and have lunch in Helen Costelloe’s Healthy Choice Pop Up Vegetarian Restaurant which is open at weekends in The Watergarden and the gardens themselves will also be open, but not the garden centre.
Other local attractions include Brid Lyons Ceramics showroom & shop, Jerpoint Glass; and Designer Edit, to name but a few.
